We are #PROUD to congratulate Egglescliffe School & Sixth Form and our Head of Strategic Partnerships, Lisa Todd, on winning the Constructing Excellence in the North East Wonder Challenge Final 2026!
This year, teams were challenged to design a sustainable school concept, exploring themes such as net zero, social value, building design and community impact. Starting from a simple brief, the team developed E.G.G (Education Green Generation), an innovative concept combining clear roles, a strong mission and creative branding. From in-depth market research and design development to building a physical model, their final concept truly stood out.
Throughout the journey, the team embraced valuable learning opportunities, connecting with industry professionals and businesses who helped bring their ideas to life. A huge thank you to our partners and supporters for their invaluable guidance, including Rula Developments, Caddick Construction Limited and Arup.
We’d also like to thank our Teeslink Development site team, who hosted visits and provided safe working areas and viewing platforms. As Egglescliffe School is located just a few minutes from our Teeslink site, supporting the Wonder Challenge formed an important part of our local social value employability and skills commitment to the scheme. Your support played a crucial role in shaping the team’s research and final presentation
At Seymour, we are passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers and raising awareness of STEM careers. Opportunities like this provide hands-on, real-world experiences that not only spark curiosity but also help bridge the industry’s growing skills gap for the future. We’re #PROUD to work alongside CENE and like-minded businesses, well done to everyone involved!
