Collaborative Working with Strabag

Team Seymour have been busy over the last 12 months delivering the critical infrastructure for the HS2 concrete segment production facility on behalf of STRABAG which has been fast paced and required a collaborative approach to delivery.

Strabag were awarded the HS2 concrete segment production contract which will produce over 30,00 units at their Hartlepool site. This previous oil rig fabrication site required alterations to enable production. Collaboration has been key whilst delivering a vast number of works to critical deadlines. It was a collective effort that has seen the ongoing infrastructure delivery including:

Breaking out of concrete slabs and reduced level excavations
Several concrete slab renewals
Gantry piling mat using crushed stone and geo-grid
Crane gantry foundation
Site wide drainage
Installation of steel driven piles internally within the existing building
Installation of pre-cast concrete piles to the external area
Reinforced concrete slabs
Ducting
Access ramp construction for batching plant
Construction of a steel framed shed with external cladding
Installation of an attenuation tank
Road and kerbs constructed to enable access around the site.

It has been great to see the ongoing progress happening on the doorstep of our head office in Hartlepool. It really goes to show how utilising a local supply chain can add benefits to national projects like these. Well done to all the team involved.
