As a Yorkshire Water Amp 7 framework provider we were awarded works to correct structural issues identified during site investigations to Whitfield Reservoir. The existing reservoir spillway was removed and replaced, and a safe and dry working area created using sheet piles installed to the dam. The new spillway was constructed using shuttering and form work to enable the installation of steel reinforcement and pouring of concrete a section at a time. 75m of plastic pipe was installed from the new spillway to the existing manhole and repairs completed to the base of the manhole. Liaison with Yorkshire Water and the landowner was critical to enable access and reinstatement of the land was undertaken upon project completion.
