Gateshead council invested almost £4m in Solar Photovoltaic panels at key sites around Gateshead.
Seymour were awarded the groundworks package at both the Baltic Business Quarter and Gateshead International Stadium. To commence this project, groundworks were required to enable the installation of Ground Mounted solar photovoltaic systems. Both sites underwent vegetation clearance and topsoil stripping, to allow the cut and fill activities to be competed. Further works included in excess of 5000m2 vegetation removal and topsoil strip, allowing a cut and exercise to be completed to level the ground to the correct gradients, installation of geotextile membrane landscaping mounds created to make the improve the visuals of the site and soft landscaping to provide improved habitat environments.
