Following from our previously awarded phases 1 and 2, Seymour were awarded the third phase of Seaham Townscape Heritage Project which included removing the existing parking spaces and refurbishing them to widen the pavement to allow more space for cafes and restaurants.
New 22 car parking spaces were constructed to the south end of the Terrace Green, mirroring the spaces at the north end. The works included the removal of approximately 400m of kerbs and channels, 1300m2 of paving slabs, 170m2 of block paving, planning of the existing carriageway surface and excavation of the grassed area, 520m of conservation kerbs and edging, new bicycle parking and layby formed. A traffic management system was implemented to enable to works to be undertaken safely.
