Regeneration works were completed to South Moor Terraces to enhance the existing environment. A sustainable urban drainage system utilised rainwater garden planters to provide a natural drainage and water management approach. The four large rainwater planters attenuate surface water and increase the infiltration of water into the soil. Raised tables were also created to slow traffic but were fitted with gully drainage to direct surface water flow toward the drainage system and rainwater garden planters. 5 trees were planted with each one commemorating one year of fighting during the First World War. Each tree was marked with battle insignia, remembering those who lost their lives.
