We were appointed to undertake replacement works to Hart Primary Schools western boundary wall following its structural instability and partial collapse in some sections. During the demolition of the wall a Tees Archaeologist visited the site to undertake a watching brief and the stone was stockpiled for re-use. 1m wide foundations were created and a 100mm wide concrete wall was built in sections to a height of 2m. This was clad using the original stone and to prevent pressure building up behind the wall as a result of a height difference to the other side we installed a filter drain using full terram wrap and 10mm of gravel with holes installed within the wall at 3m intervals. The original coping stones were also fitted to the top of the stone and lime mortar used for the rebuilding and pointing.
