Improvement works were undertaken to the reservoir dam embankment drainage to avoid deterioration and erosion. CCTV camera surveys and investigations through trail holes were completed to the existing drainage. The improvement works involved the installation of 250m of filter drain pipework to either side of the 32 degree sloping embankment, 14 new concrete manholes with baffles plates to slow water flow, the re-instatement of the headwall, the installation of filter drainage across the existing berm footpath and new outfall connection into the existing spillway outfall area. The gradient of the embankment posed challenges and a specialist tracked dumper was utilised as it was best suited to the site. Fencing was removed and replaced and 100m² of grass reinstated following completion of the works.
