Planned and reactive works were completed to numerous assets with the majority of works being undertaken country parks, nature reserves and general ‘green space’ used daily by members of the public. The of works included earthworks, access track creation and repairs, drainage installation, alteration and repair, soft and hard landscaping, tree and shrub planting, woodland and tree management, habitat creation, fencing, works to ponds, waterways and wetlands, surfacing works to footpaths, bridlepaths and cycleways.
Works allocated were split into day works and projects. Meetings, communications and interactions ensured efficient completion of each individual project under the framework. We also worked closely with several stakeholders including English Heritage, Wear Rivers Trust and the Environment Agency due to the sensitive environmental and ecological considerations required when working in these environments.
