External works were completed on adjacent sites for a new 2083m2 Aldi and 1178m2 Martson’s Public House. Both sites required bulk earthworks and enabling works to level the sites. A sheet piled retaining wall was constructed using 9m long piles and a 55m long gabion basket retaining wall constructed to address the significant rise in levels to the south and east while maximising space across the sites providing a 50-space car park and 90-space car park with footpaths to the perimeter. A new access road and junction was created providing access into the site. Across each site new foul and surface water drainage was installed along with new manholes to various depths and tied into the existing Skelton Park system. An attenuation tank was constructed underneath the Marston’s car park using a crate system capable of storing 116m3 of water and allows the water to infiltrate into the ground and into the system at a controlled rate via a hydrobrake. The sites were white lined along with the new access road.
