Seymour Civil Engineering were appointed by Sisk to undertake the installation of the highway drainage and kerb drainage works associated with the £75m upgrade to the A19/A1058 Silverlink Junction to a triple level format, aimed at dramatically reducing vehicle congestion while improving safety.

Our 4 key areas of work involved the main highway and land drainage, trenchless crossing undertaken by micro tunnelling techniques, the sinking of 3no. shafts with the deepest being 13.5m and the installation of combined kerb drainage. The trenchless crossings consisted of two 900mm diameter drives 25m in length, two 1200mm diameter drives both 185m in length, one 600mm diameter micro tunnel 55m in length and 300mm augerbour 22m in length. The tunnelling was successfully completed and travelled underneath the coast road and A19, maintaining traffic flows throughout the works. During the delivery of our works, Seymour were crowned Sub Contractor of the year for 2 consecutive years at the John Sisk and Son’s Supply Chain Awards out of 700 nominations
