Careers Week

This week, our team had the pleasure of attending a STEM event at St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, where we showcased the work we do in construction and highlighted the sector as an accessible, exciting career path for everyone.

As part of our visit, we delivered an engaging presentation to introduce the students to what engineering is and what we do. We also shared a fantastic video from CECA North East, which captures our industry brilliantly and helped bring the world of construction to life.

Our team explored the wide variety of roles within engineering, ran a “spot the safety risk” challenge and hosted a health and safety poster competition to promote a safety‑first culture. The session finished with students getting hands‑on experience using our simulator… which proved to be a huge hit!

The visit forms part of our ongoing social value commitments across several projects and frameworks and supports our continued involvement with the Durham Pound initiatives.

A huge thank you to Lisa Todd, Jon Robinson, Michael Jackaman and Chloe Gooding for representing Team Seymour on the day.

Inspiring young minds today helps build the workforce of tomorrow, and we are very proud to play our part!
