Project Description:
On these major road reconstruction works Seymour worked as a sub contractor to Cumbrian Industrials carrying out all civils works associated with the reconstruction of the Thirsk By pass. Seymour diamond cut and broke out existing concrete road, carting spoil to crushing plant for crushing into aggregate and carted materials back to site as recycled road sub base (over 90%of excavated material was recycled in this way), the forming and profiling of the formation level included installation of drainage and geotextile to reinforce sub soil. Seymour also carried out weatherproofing of concrete bridge structures using spray membrane. The works were carried out in two phases of approx. 3km per phase of both north and south bound dual carriageways with very tight time table requiring careful control of logistics.
This urban regeneration scheme is in the historic setting of the upper Saltburn promenade.
